Be careful what you wish for. Unless you’ve got thick skin honest critiques can be a tough pill to swallow.
As for what tip I could offer the beginning photographer?
Be There! This is the number one tip I give my workshop clients. Well over half of good landscape photography is being there when Mother Nature is showing off. If that means getting up at 3 a.m. so you can be there in time for sunrise, do it! If it means hiking to the top of a mountain for sunset, knowing full well you’re going to have to hike out in the dark, do it! The best light isn’t going to wait for you, you need to chase after it.

Keep practicing and follow Jeff’s advice. I heard somewhere that the first 10,000 pictures you take are “garbage” and that is about when you begin to make progress. Choose simplicity in your images …. there is no real focal point in the photos you showed, no order. Keep your photography clean as well. Composition means everything which in of itself takes a long time to understand. Develop a “sixth” sense between you and your camera when you see an image in your viewfinder telling you “this is it!”. If you really have a passion for a camera, you will succeed. Above all else, LIGHT is THE most important factor in your shots as well as contrast. Good luck!
